David Caruso - Ripe for mocking

The incomparable Lisa de Moraes and her guests never fail to entertain us. Here are a few more highlights from the favored weekly online-talk!
******************************
Baltimore: Into the David Caruso vortex: We all ganged up on Howdy Doody's long lost younger brother last week and -- ta da -- he wound up being parodied on "The Simpsons" two days later, all the way down to the sunglasses, head tilt and hands on hips. You can check out frames here and even play the video (it's about three minutes into the show).

Lisa de Moraes: I wish we could take credit but, alas, the time involved in producing animated programming suggests otherwise. Caruso is ripe for mocking...

******************************
Maryland: Horatio killed about a dozen dudes on this week's "CSI: Miami" a la Jack Bauer. Wouldn't it be the bestest acting of all time if Horatio/David Caruso and Jack/Kiefer Sutherland got together in a TV show? Also, CBS advertises "CSI: Miami" with an image of Horatio's sunglasses with a bullet hole in one of the lenses. Shouldn't Horatio be dead in that case? Is he a zombie?

Lisa de Moraes: That would explain the acting, wouldn't it. There's only one thing wrong with that "CSI: Miami" ad. The sunglasses should have a bullet hole in one of the lenses and in the other we should see the reflection of a hot blonde chick in a string bikini stooping over to to pick up the glasses. I'm frankly surprised the marketing guys at CBS didn't pick up on that missed opportunity and fix it...

******************************
Caruso the Muppet: I -- uh, I mean my two-year-old -- saw a pretty funny Muppet of David Caruso on "Sesame Street" the other day -- sunglasses, voice inflection and all.

Lisa de Moraes: We really do need an Act Like David Caruso Day -- he's a phenomenon..

Multi-process Caruso the Muppet immediately!: We really need to give another plug and a shout-out to the person who alerted us to Caruso the Muppet. It's dead-on.

Lisa de Moraes: Hooray!
